Fatih Sultan Mehmet International Imam Hatip High School
Darüşşafaka High School, founded in 1873 in Istanbul’s Fatih district, moved to a new building in Maslak in 1993. After 15 years of being unused, plans were made by the Ministry of National Education to open a school in these buildings for international students. Collaborations between ministries resulted in the allocation of buildings to the Ministry of National Education. Renovations were completed, and education began.
In 2008, the buildings were renovated to start educational activities under a new name. The school began its activities in 2010-2011 with 30 students and fully started in Fatih from the 2011-2012 academic year.
Renamed in 2013 and again in 2016-2017, it has become a culturally rich school with students from 60 different countries. The coexistence of both international and Turkish students has led to positive cultural interactions.
